Coconut Oil

I don’t ever feel rich enough to be as ‘Organic and Holistic’ in my life as I’d like, but this is one cheap and 100% natural health tip that I don’t think the world talks about enough.

Coconut Oil is an amazing thing, it can be used as a moisturiser (brilliant for dry skin and if you’re pregnant can stop stretch marks) a hair conditioner and a bath oil. It can also be digested and is aparently a great aid to weight loss, when I was reading up about it I saw that people were using it as a spread on toast, as an oil when cooking and as an ingredient in their smoothies to name just a few options! Here’s a site selling tubs for £10.99 for 450g worth.

I have seen that it’s a saturated fat though, so I think that I’ll stick to using it as a moisturiser and conditioner, it’s great to have lotions that I could also eat safely, I truly believe that we need to stop applying poisons to our skin, we should use things that are also safe to injest, it all sinks in sooner or later. I like to read the ingredients section on the back of the bottle and know what they are (those weird chemical sounding words ending with ‘ide’ and ‘nate’ really leave me doubting that they are good for me) I also LOVE to see just a couple of ingredients listed, it feels good to be doing things naturally!

Here’s a list I found of the benefits of coconut oil, it’s a wonder oil! not sure if I need it to kill a tapeworm…but good to know just in case! ; )
